DIY Paper Doll Halloween Costume

Last minute plans always seem to pop up on Halloween, or at least they did for me back in 2014!

It was Friday, October 31st around 9am and I had no costume to wear to go out that evening in Downtown San Diego. I’m not going to lie, I probably had a few old costumes hidden in my closet somewhere, but who wants to wear a costume twice? Not me at least! I also had no desire to pay over $50 for a costume that was not going to be complete. Come on, you know what I’m talking about! Lets face it, they know how to get you at those Halloween party stores… the costume is $50, but now you need to buy all the accessories that go along with it, or else, what’s the point of wearing half a costume?!

Sooooo… I started brainstorming for a costume that I could DIY when I got home and complete in just a couple of hours. I thought back to my childhood, and the toys I played with and yes… Paper Dolls came to mind!! I knew I wanted to look cute and show off a little leg, so I sketched up a dress, scanned it to my computer, scaled it to size and sent it out to print! I had some chipboard at home, and in less than a few hours I was ready to go!
